Dj Blupcat's place of origin is Banska Bystrica a magnificent city placed in the middle of Slovakia. His very first touch with the club scene happened in the legendary U-Club where everything has begun. Mainly influenced by hard techno sound that was produced by Subtech djs that time he began to collect records and soon started to manage first parties in his home town. His place on the scene was directly following elite djs from Subtech. In 1998 he moved to Brighton and later to London, where he discovered various music styles and influenced by Detroit and Sublub he began to profile his techno production into U.K. techno sound. However, he never forgot where came from and few times during year he visited Slovakia and performed his best tunes on various parties and festivals. In 1999 he found something interesting and exciting in Drum and bass as well, what gave him that time similar feelings (Movement in Brixtons Mass Church and The End parties) as a good techno production produced by by his favourite djs: James Ruskin, Oliver Ho, Jeff Mills, Steve Bicknell, Marco Carolla, Adam Bayer, Dave Clark and others.
His favourite London party was the legendary Lost organized by Steve Biknell than he began to preffer The End party which was Ed Rush's optical running drumandbass party. This was actually his first real contact with the sound of D'n'B that changed his prefered music style completely.
He was a respected techno dj but during year 2000 he supported Drumatique party in Uclub with special DnB set which entailed invitation of forming drumatique crew represented during that time by first slovakian DnB djs - Galagha and Gabanna. He was rare dj playing two different styles and his transformation took more then one year while he finally profiled himself as a drumand bass dj. The complete turning point came around year 2001 when he introduced his skills on the legendary Boomerang rave party with dnb set. Afterwards he performed his last public techno set on after party in overcrowded Uclub. From that time he started to play strictly Drumandbass but he still keep nice collection of techno and techhouse records.
As a third member of Drumatique Crew he helped a lot with building of this scene. Drumatique nights became very popular and he actively contributed to new drumandbass music boom in Slovakia. As a active member of DQ crew he helped to bring first dnb djs from abroad, mainly from UK to Slovakian clubs and open air festival. Until present he performed with top DnB djs and producers : Ed Rush, Matrix, Bad Company, Logistics, Fierce, Viper, JB, Spice, Optical, RymeTyme, Teebee, Andy C , Roni Size, Craggz & Paralell Forces, Scretch Perverts, Adam F, Nu:Tone, Concord Down, UtahJazz, Kemal, DKay, Verse, Tactile, Danny Bird, Aziz, Brooklyn,Shroombab, Anorganik, SKC, Chris Su. He was regularly playing in Slovakia and neighbouring countries.
During this period he became to be a very respected dj and was voted by Slovakian clubbers as the most favourite dnb dj in 2003 and he still keeps position in Slovakian top 5. He is well known and always profesional with his mixings. Between years 2003-2005 he organized his own residental parties in Guru club Zilina called Residance and in Bratislava‘s Spojka club called Soft Drama, which was the first venue that presented todays liquid style of drumandbass enriched by vjing and live instruments. He is the most flexible dnb dj. He has his own party Liquid beatz in Bratislava‘s friendly bar Radost which is slowly becomming to be a legend. He is the resident in Sublub on drumandbass parties organized by booking dnb.sk, which is the follower of Drumatique nights. His mixing technic is precise but spontane and he never play the same set. He is probably the best party builder always able to find way how to atract people and make a proper dnb atmosphere . He is happy to yield decks and mixer to next dj after he properly warmed up all the people in the club. Dj Blupcat has big experience with radio performances in Funradio , Radio Sity and Radio FM. For him „drumandbass present positive energy with special feelings which I have to follow..."
He unconditionally belongs among the top slovak djs.
